DeNada Seeks Tech Manager for the Premiere and Tour of Mariposa: a Queer Tragedy Inspired by Puccini's Madame Butterfly
DeNada Dance Theatre is looking for a technical manager for the Birmingham premiere and autumn and winter tour of its new narrative production, Mariposa: a Queer Tragedy Inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly. Trailer: https://vimeo.com/388545713
We are looking for a technical manager with quick learning skills, artistic sensibility , experience operating light and sound, and a driving license valid for vans to join DeNada’s dynamic and fun team on the road.
We can offer a fee of Responsibilities include:
Mariposa: a Queer Tragedy Inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly
- Learning lighting design, cues, sound, etc from lighting designer Barnaby Booth during technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals at Birmingham Hippodrome, Patrick Studio.
- Operating LX and sound for premiere at Birmingham Hippodrome’s Patrick Studio on Sept 30 and Oct 1
- Operating LX and sound on tour
- Liaising with Company Director, Producer, and other technical support for planning of get in and rehearsals on
tour
- Overseeing get ins on tour
- Where appropriate, driving set, costumes, props etc from storage to venue and back (generally stored in
Birmingham and Leeds)
- Liaising with venue technical teams
- Dates: stage rehearsals Sept 28, Sept 29 (Birmingham Hippodrome)
Premiere: Sept 30 and Oct 1 (Birmingham Hippodrome)
Performances in Leeds’ Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre: Oct 11 (get in)Oct 12
Performance at The Lowry: Jan 16 (get in and show)In total, the contract would be for the following 11 days:
Sept 28 - Learning Mariposa show from, and assisting, lighting designer Barnaby Booth, Birmingham Hippodrome
Sept 29 – Learning Mariposa show from, and assisting, lighting designer Barnaby Booth, Birmingham HippodromeSept 30 – Mariposa, premiere performance
Oct 1 - Mariposa, premiere performance- Drive Set to Leeds
Oct 11. – Mariposa get-in, Leeds
Oct 12. - Mariposa performance, Leeds
Jan 16- Mariposa, get in and performance, The Lowry - Drive set to Leeds 1 day to liaise with Leeds and The Lowry in advance8 days in total at £200 per day (inclusive of per diem) = £1600.
